![]() ![]() Overall, I would recommend this book and have a look at one man's experience growing up around logging in short bursts of time. Some of the stories were riveting and at these times I couldn't put the book down and others, though good weren't as exciting. He moves back and forth between working various logging jobs and moving to Vancouver and being involved in street life and staying in various rooming houses/hotels along Granville Street and drinking up a storm and dallying in smoking pot. He is an aspiring poet who does do some writing but never seems to get anything off the ground, until this book, I guess. It is a book of short stories about various intervals in the writers life. Surprise, surprise, it was one of the better books that I've read in the past while. ![]() I believed this book to be out of my reading realm as it was about bush and logging stories and I really don't have much interest in that type of genre. ![]()
